The flattering 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon offers plenty of dense, chewy fruit, medium to full body and hints of blackcurrants, charcoal, espresso bean and spice box. Drink it over the next decade.
Rothwell Hyde is a project of David Abreu and Brad Grimes. These wines appear to be made from barrels culled out from the Abreu estate vineyards that are blended together to make a wine that is more forward, flattering, and ready to drink upon release. That would explain why the current releases are much older vintages than one normally sees from Napa wineries.
