Though they have been established for over fourteen years, McKinlay remains one of Oregon's smallest and most obscure wineries. Rather than spend their time on marketing and public relations, Matt and Holly Kinne instead dedicate all of their energy and resources to producing the finest quality Pinot Noir possible. This is achieved by sourcing the very best vineyard sites, paying growers by the acre rather than by the ton in order to keep yields extremely low (1 - 1.5 tons per acre), practicing minimal intervention winemaking while personally monitoring every step of the process, blending lots with the utmost sensitivity to aromas, flavors, texture and longevity, and maintaining without compromise, the highest possible quality standard as their objective.
